Box 15265, Lakewood, Colorado, 80215, phone (303) 989-1740 has filed with the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division, an application for a permit renewal to conduct coal mining under provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The legal description of the proposed mine is as follows: Township 8 North, Range 78 West, 6th P.M. Section 10: SE4 NE4 NE4, W35 NE4 NE4, NW4 NEa, NW4, S2 NE4, N'~ N'~ NEa SW4, N'~ N'~ NWa, SE4 Section 11: W'~ NW4 Section 2: Beginning at a point 1225 feet N 89°47'21" E from the NW corner of the SW4, Section 2, thence N 89°47'21" E, 700 feet, thence S 00°12'39" E, 1500 feet, thence Southeast to a point on a South section line which is 1530 feet S 89°38'00" E of the SW corner of the said SW4, thence N 89°38'00" W, 1530 feet to the SW corner of said SW4, thence N 00°01'03" W, 300 feet, thence N 40°44'00" E, 1250 feet, thence NE to the point of beginning. Plus a BLM right-of-way which includes: Section 2: Pt. SW4 SW4 Section 11: Pt. NW4 NW4 Section 10: Pt. NE4 NE4, Pt. NW4NW4 Section 3: Pt. S'~ Section 9: Pt. NW4 Section 4: Pt. S'~, Pt. SE4 NW4 The surface of the proposed permit area is owned by the Bureau of Land Management, Francis Murphy, Verena Winscom and James Kerr. The mine is currently in operation. The description below indicates the towns, water bodies, local landmarks and routes necessary to readily identify the proposed permit area. The proposed postmining use of the affected land is rangeland. U.S.G.S. 7.5 minutes quadrangle maps Johnny Moore Mountain and Gould NW contain the described area of the existing operation. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Jackson County Courthouse, Walden, Colorado.
