Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) has completed the adequacy <br />review for Rule 3.0 Reclamation Cost Estimate for the Northfield Mine permit application. <br />Please review our comments and provide additional information as necessary so the <br />Division can begin calculations to determine the reclamation cost estimate for the site. <br />Section 2.05.2 Operations Plan -Estimated Area for Life of Operation <br />There is a typographic error on Page 2.05-2 on the second line of the forth <br />paragraph. The word structures has been misspelled as "strictures". Please <br />correct. <br />Section 2.05.3 Operations Plan -Permit Area <br />2. There is a typographical error on Page 2.05.3-3 on the second line of the first <br />paragraph. The text reads "...Mine Health and Safety Administration <br />(MSHA)." This should read "Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)." <br />Please correct. <br />On Page 2.05.3-7 Northfield describes a plan to pump water from the active <br />workings to the surface and have it pass through the sediment pond and <br />eventually be discharged to the surface stream system. Please provide the <br />Division with a diagram of the system including the size(s) and location(s) of <br />any boreholes to the workings and the size and location of all surface and <br />Office of Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines <br />
