S~ <br />Fq ~~~ <br />JAM/ryING S~Q~~ <br />Thank you for your February 16, 1978 letter enclosing <br />the Environmental Protection Agency's most recent comments <br />concerning Colorado Westmoreland Ine.'s proposedlmining plan. <br />We discussed EPA's comments and requests for information <br />with John Hardaway and Dan Kimball of EPA in a meeting on <br />Friday, February 18, 1978. In accordance with the instructions <br />in your letter, we are providing you in the attached memoran- <br />dum and appendices with certain supplemental information <br />requested by EPA in its comments regarding the mining plan. <br />This information is also being furnished to EPA. <br />As well as providing this supplemental information to <br />U.S,G.S. and EPA, we would also like to reply toseveral of <br />EPA's comments to you on the procedures to be followed by <br />U.S.G.S. in considering and acting on CWI's mining plan. <br />As we have discussed on several occasions, ~ <br />depleted the fee reserves available to the Orcha <br />Mine.
