The proposed project is located within Sections
9, 10, il, 14, 15 and 16, Township 13 South Range 91 West, Delta
County, Colorado.
In accordance with nationwide general permit 21 for surface
coal mining activities an Office of Surface Mining or state
approved mitigation plan must be included under the Notification
general condition. Westwater Engineering has prepared and
submitted a Conceptual Wetland Mitigation Plan on behalf of Bowie
Resources for the impacts to waters of the United States at the
Bowie mine Number 2. We believe that the conceptual plan
successfully addresses ways to offset proposed impacts at the
mine site. Preparation of final plans are contingent upon
additional feasibility studies to be performed in the spring and
summer of 1997.
We have enclosed a copy of the Conceptual Mitigation Plan
for your review and approval.
