Dear Commissioners:
Pursuant to Title 33, Article 34, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised
Statutes, the Mined Land Reclamation Division hereby issues notice that on
April 4, 1492, an application fora reclamation only permit for a former coal
mining operation, file No. C-81-015, by American Shield Coal Company, 10830 N.
Central Expressway, Suite 175, Dallas, TX 75231, was deemed complete for the
purposes of filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act
and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing.
The applicant proposes to reclaim underground coal mining operations in
Township 8 South, Range 101 West of the 6th Principle Meridian
NW 1/4 NW 1/4 Section 29
NE 1/4 Section 30
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map
of Ruby Lee Reservior. A copy of the application is available for public
inspection at the Mesa County Courthouse, 544 Rood Ave, Grand Junction, CO.
Written comments, objections or requests for an informal conference on the
application may be submitted to, and additional information obtained from, the
Mined Land Reclamation Division, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver,
Colorado 80203, (303> 866-3567. Written comments. objections or requests for
an informal conference must be filed at the Division within 30 days after the
last public notice. This 30-day period should end on or about June 18, 1992.
