The stockpiled recycled asphalt material will be processed through a
crushing plant to make asphalt treated base (ATBf. ATB is a very useful
product. ATB is more effective than regular base gravel for. shoulder
materials because the AT6 will not slip off the shoulder as gra~iel does.
Also, crushing reclaimed asphalt recycles the materials and reduces the demand
on landfill disposal. Our plan is to crush the asphalt pile the next time we
have a crushing plant in the pit.
2. An entrance sign for the pit is now in place at the entrance gate. Also
the pit area is marked with temporary lath. A portion of the permit boundary
is actually in the river. The area in the river is not scheduled f`or mining.
I plan to have the site surveyed to delineate the mining permit and the
ownership boundary. She land is owned by Corn Construction Co. I plan to have
the survey completed by no later than August 31, 1995.
3. Attached is a copy of our well permit for the pit.
I trust the above information addresses the issues listed in your report. I
appreciate your comments concerning the on going reclamation of the pit. If
you have any questions please call me.
Sinc rel ,
e1S~~ i tland
Vice Pres ent
cc: Ron Tipping, Grand Juction Concrete Pipe Co.
AN EOUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
