OBSERVATIONS OF IhIPORTANCE:
1. Revegetation techniques developed by f1r. Klco on this site have yielded
excellent results for such a harsh site.
2. The collection of seed on site and development of a local seed source has
contributed to h1r. Klco's success.
3. h1r. Klco stated that successful revegetation results are due in part to land
shaping that creates pockets that will hold moisture, proper mulching techniques,
use of locally adapted seed sources, and proper timing of the revegetation planting.
4. f4 r. Klco stated that revegetation work costs only about 1% of the operating
budget for this operation.
