This plan would mitigate the problem noted during your last
monitoring inspection of the clay pit on August 24, 2000.
To prevent siltation of the roadside ditch, a tlu-ee-foot high silt fence would be installed
along the west base of the stockpile (see attached map). Then to control erosion, the
stockpile would be broadcast seeded this fall with both Yuma Winter Wheat as a cover
and Standard Crested Wheat grass for final vegetation. The seed application rates would
be 30 pounds PLS/Acre for the winter wheat and 14 pounds PLS/Acre for [he crested
wheat grass. The use of cover vegetation and a fall application should have a better
success rate than the past seeding.
Please contact me at (7l9) 542-3278 if any further information is needed.
Sincerely,
~~
E.C.
