No inert fill will be
utilized m~der future wetiands.
Approximately 300,000 cy of inert material will be backfilled.
We certify all backfill will be clean and inert as defined in Rule 1.1(20).
Some inert fill has already been placed; primarily excess dirt from local
construction projects. We anticipate such backfilling occurring fur the life of the
pit.
It is necessary to utilize offsite inert fill to backfill the pit area in order to achieve
contours consistent with the reclamation plan. There is simply not enough over-
burden on site to backfill without importing inert fill, and we generate such
material from local construction and site development contracts.
The inert fill will be placed in approximately two-foot lifts with a crawler type
dozer. The majority of the fill is dirt with broken concrete and rock making up
the balance. This enables the concrete and rock to be surrounded with dirt,
milumizing settling due to voids.
655(1 So. County Road 5 • Fort Collins.
