Long, M.S. Savage
Weather: Clear, warm, with light breeze
Time: 1:00 PM
Type of Inspection: Partial
Operator Contact: Mr. Richard lJright
I. General Comments
The entire Tipple permit area was walked and examined. Pon E on site was
discharging at a rate of approximately 2 gallons per minute. The effluent
appeared clear and with no evidence of oil or grease in the discharge. The
ditch on the S/W side of the stacker conveyor and to the south and east of the
substation requires some channelization in order to prevent the meandering of
the runoff from the stockpile area. It was noted that the sewage lagoon
within the permit area appears to be seeping on the N/E side of the
embankment. The operator should take measures to prevent this seepage by
addition of a clay liner along that side or addition of extra material along
that side and compaction to prevent that seepage.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
