Trapper Mining, Inc.
Dear Mr. Wilcox:
The Division has completed its third adequacy review of Trapper's 1996 Annual Report,
which includes the 1996 Annual Hydrology Section. The Division had stated in its
December 9, 1997 summary letter to OSM that OSM would be contacted when the
remaining items, item numbers 2, 6, 7 and 8, were finally resolved. The Division believes
that all of the adequacy issues which had been a part of the Special Focus Inspection of
surface water hydrology at the Trapper Mine have been answered satisfactorily by
Trapper. This letter is a final summary of the issues brought up during the field and office
portions of the Special Focus inspection of Trapper Mine.
OFFICE REVIEW
Trapper had been requested to clarify two statements on page 4-222 of their permit
application. The Division believes that this issue has been resolved, as explained in
the December 9, 1997 letter from [he Division to OSM.
Trapper had been requested to expand on the Probable Hydrologic Consequences
(PHC) section of the permit application. The Division's letter of December 9, 1997
to OSM detailed the resolution of this issue, except for one item. This item
