O'Brian of Environment, Inc. on September 29, 2006 and received by the Division on October 2,
2006 addressing the problem of potential exposure of ground water in the wash-out pit located north of the
existing concrete batch plant at the Thompson Resource pit. Based on a review of the letter and associated
photographs, the Division concurs with Mr. O'Brian's conclusion that the water contained in the pit is not
ground water, and that the operator has adequately demonstrated that ground water has not been exposed in the
wash-out pit.
The Division appreciates the operator's prompt response to this issue and now considers this problem resolved.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at (303) 866-4935.
Sincerely,
Richard M. Wenzel III
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Stevan L.
