This information is vital in developing the groundwater response plan. Furthermore,
we have been unable to make progress due the unforeseen absence of our key consultant due to
family emergency.
Based upon our discussion during your inspection on June 24, 2004 and our telephone
conversation on July 19, 2004, CEMEX will immediately increase the grab sample monitoring in
A-Pit and C-Pit from semiannual to biweekly. We have contracted with Pazagon Analytical to
conduct the following testing. The first sample is scheduled to be taken on July 28, 2004.
Parameter Anal tical Method
H EPA 150.1
S ecific Conductance EPA 120.1
Selenium, dissolved EPA 7740
Thallium, dissolved EPA 7841
Additionally, CEMEX has secured a wildlife biologist who conducted a site survey of wildlife
and habitat on July 21, 2004.
