The Division requested a letter to accompany the map to explain the above removal
as well as to give information on a wnveyor system.
The azea that is highlighted on the enclosed map is owned by Continental Materials Company
(200 South Wacker Drive, Suite 400 Chicago, IL 60606). This area is approximately 12.5 acres.
This area is home to a Concrete Batch plant, offices, and maintenance facilities. The concrete
batch plant predates the mining operation and will likely exist after the mining operation is
wmpleted. The batch plant can receive aggregate from other sources and is therefore not part of
the affected land. This area was originally included in the affected azea map because it was
thought this land would have more mine related uses, which did not ever occur. The azea is
currently and had in the past been used in support of the concrete batch plant and not the mining
operation. Because ofthe aforementioned reasons, Transit Mix request that this azea be removed
from the permit.
The inspection report also requested that Transit Mix submit the length and width of the
conveyor system as well as the warranty to remove the conveyor. The conveyor is 30 inches
wide and the total length is 2200 feet. Attached is a warranty calculation for this conveyor.
Transit Mix appreciates the Divisions time in these matters. Please feel free to contact me if you
have any questions.
Best Regard~/s~~p
` ~~ r ~~,_
Gerald ~ermans
t/
Vice President
