Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) has received and reviewed the letter requesting an
extension to November 30, 2004 for completing the outlet structure approved on February 9, 2004 in
Technical Revision 1 (TR 1). It is our understanding from this letter that the inlet structure (also
approved in TR 1) is completed according to approved plans.
While DMG can understand that spring river conditions may have precluded completion of the outlet
structure, an extension to November 30 is unwarranted at this time since DMG worked closely with the
operator to allow submittal and approval of the TR to cover a problem that the operator self-reported.
The DMG will, however, allow an extension of time to July 30, 2004 to complete the outlet structure
since we think that 6 months is more than adequate to complete two water flow structures.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at 303-866-3863.
Si erely,
azl B, Mount
Senior Environmental Protection Specialist
Office of Office of Colorado
Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
