Laboratory decontaminated sample bottles w/ HNO3
preservative for dissolved metals and hardness,
NaOH preservative for cyanide analysis, no
preservative for total suspended solids.
c. Decontamination equipment
d. Provide for sampling vessels (decontaminated and
supplied by laboratory)
Procedure:
1. Decon. filtering device - Wash filtering equipment (including
hoses and pump) with alkonox and
distilled water, rinse with approx. 1
gal. distilled water, rinse with aprox.
1 gal. lab supplied de-ionized water.
This is done with filter not attached.
2. Equipment Blank Samples - With filter still not attached, run
approx. 1 gal. of lab-supplied de-
ionoized water through pump and hose and
fill preserved sampling bottles:
1 for cyanide analysis
1 for dissolved metals analysis
3. Pre-contaminate filtering equipment with approx. 1 gal. outlet water
to be sampled.
