During the inspection, several sites were observed including the Wellington Downs <br />Pit (M-1995-035), the Weitzel Pit (M-1986-050), and the Stute Pit (M-1981-007). One aspect of the <br />inspection report required that Lafarge West, Inc. (Lafazge) prevent surface water dischazges from the <br />Weitzel Pit groundwater lakes onto the Wellington Downs site or revise the reclamation plan to allow the <br />discharges. Currently, surface water is not discharging from the Weitzel Pit site. <br />Previous letters have requested additional time to respond to the inspection report. Evaluations for the <br />site conditions and potential corrective actions for the properties have been completed. Additionally; <br />discussions between Lafarge and Connell Resources to discuss potential actions and respond to the <br />inspection report have taken place. • We are curently prepazing technical revisions to update the Weitzel <br />Pit and Wellington Downs Pit reclamation plans. <br />Therefore, we aze requesting additional time to submit revisions to the permits involved. We request a <br />decision date extension until October 20, 2006. We ask that this extension apply to the inspection reports <br />prepazed for both the Wellington Downs Pit and Weitzel Pit. <br />Thank you for your cooperation.
