In accordance with <br />the Corrective Actions you noted pertaining to the removal of waste oil barrels from the mine <br />sites, specifically the Topaz Mine and the West Sunday Mine, the following actions have been <br />taken: <br />1. At the Topaz Mine, Permit M-1980-055, two SS-gallon drums of waste oil were <br />removed on January 16. One S-gallon plastic bucket of oil was removed also. <br />2. At the West Sunday Mine, Permit M-1981-021, five SS-gallon barrels were removed <br />on January 16 from the oil storage dock located south of the shop; not all of these <br />barrels were full, but all were removed. One barrel remains at the storage dock, but it <br />is empty. <br />A number of 5-gallon buckets at the storage dock were drained into the 55-gallon <br />drums or otherwise removed from the mine site. <br />Two SS-gallon barrels full of waste oil were removed from the north side of the shop. <br />3. Although no oil barrels were noted or described as being potential problems in your <br />Inspection Report for the Sunday Mine, Permit M-1977-285, a number of waste oil <br />barrels were found at this mine and were also removed on January 16. <br />Three SS-gallon barrels of waste oil were removed from the north side of the shop. <br />One SS-gallon barrel of waste oil was removed from the west side of the shop. <br />One SS-gallon barrel of waste oil was removed from the south side of the shop. <br />A total of fourteen SS-gallon barrels were removed from the mine sites. In addition, several <br />buckets and oil change pans were gathered and also removed from the sites. All materials were <br />loaded into a covered horse [railer and transported to IUSA's White Mesa Mill south of <br />Blanding, UT.
