Operations began approximately d ring the weekend of
the 19th of May, 1984.
The Stage Stop Pit is located within a forty acre parcel owned by outh Way approxi-
mately 12 miles west of Saguache on Highway 114, The original applicat'on proposed a ten
acre permit area in the northwest corner of South Way's ownership. How ver, operations are
currently being conducted along the southern end of South Way`s propert South Way appar-
ently began operating without the proper permits because they have a co tract with the State
Highway Department to crush and stockpile 10,000 tons of gravel by June 30, 1984.
At the county level, our planning commission has recommended that outh Way be fined
and ordered to comply with county requirements for permitting by June 4 1984. If you need
any additional information do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
1`~ -~'
Brian Peters
Land Use Administrator
BP/km
