Both cover and woody plant density data were obtained on Transect #l,
while only woody density data was obtained on Transect t12. Procedures were as
previously described.
Data Summary
(Reference any tables, diagrams or maps attached)
Attachment 1 - Transect locations
Attachment 2 - Cover Summary
Attachment 3 - Woody Plant Density Summary
Narrative Evaluation of Compliance
This sampling parcel comprised the east facing slope in the western half of the
seeding parcel. The parcel is characterized by high production and cover, with
the dominant species being titer milkvetch (Astragalus titer), intermediate
wheatgrass, orchard grass, alfalfa (Medicago sativa), and kentucky bluegrass.
Bare ground exposure was 2.1%. No erosion was noted on the hillslope or the
upper segment of the reclaimed drainage. Minor downcutting was observed in the
lower portion of the drainage, but,it did not appear to exceed allowances of the
approved "permanent gully" plan. fewer species account for a higher percentage
of the vegetation cover as compared to the live handle parcel, but the parcel
would still individually meet the:.species diversity standard based on the one
transect run, since the 3 dominant species account for only 56% relative cover,
and no species exceeds 40% relative cover. Woody plant density was estimated to
be u = 1,701 + 44 stems/acre. Dominant shrubs were snowberry, big sagebrush,
and rubber rabbitbrush (Chrysothame~us nauseosus).
* A separate tracking sheet should be filled out for each area and compliance
topic evaluated.
*• If applicable
DTM/ern 4538E
