General Comments
Limited amounts of coal are being mined at Red Canyon. The amount of coal
stockpiled in the mine yard area has been reduced substantially since the
previous inspection. The coal load-out facility in Delta which is used by
both Blue Ribbon Coal Company and Grand Mesa and which will be permitted under
the permanent program was also inspected. The major environmental-public
health problem noted at the load-out is that the proposeq southern boundary of
the permit area and a considerable volwne of stockpiled coal is within 100
feet of 1st Street and within 3U0 feet of a number of residences.
423 Centennial Building. 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
