West <br /> <br />RE: Lyle Smith Pit - File No. M-1977-053, Asphalt Constructors, Inc. <br /> Amendment (AM-3) <br /> Request for Amendment <br /> <br />Please be advised that on October 6, 2025, Asphalt Constructors, Inc., whose address and telephone number <br />are 7040 Highway 160 West, Alamosa, CO 81101; (719) 589-6671, filed an application for a/an <br />Amendment (AM- 3) to M1977053, Lyle Smith Pit, which is located approximately 24 miles East of <br />Alamosa, Section 20, Township 30S, Range 72W, 06th Principle Meridian, in Costilla County. <br /> <br />This Amendment Application is to increase the acreage to the south of the current Permit Boundary by an <br />additional 43.04 Acres for a total acreage of 124 Acres. The Mining and Reclamation Plans will not change <br />the processes onsite but will account for the additional acreage. <br /> <br />A decision date has been set for January 4, 2026.Written comments or objections to the application may be <br />submitted to and additional information obtained from Lucas J. West at the Division of Reclamation, Mining <br />and Safety, 1313 Sherman St. Room 215 Denver, CO 80203, by telephone at (303) 919-2997. <br /> <br />Asphalt Constructors, Inc. is required to publish a public notice in a newspaper of general circulation in the <br />locality of the mining operation once per week for four consecutive weeks. If you wish to make comments <br />on or objections to the mine plan and/or the reclamation plan, they must be submitted within twenty (20) days <br />of the date of the last newspaper public notice to be considered in the application review process by the <br />Division. You should contact the applicant for the newspaper publication date. If we do not receive your <br />comments or any objection by the end of the public comment period, the Division will assume you have no <br />objection or comment to the proposed activity. <br /> <br />M-GR-03A-P
