<br />Dear Sir or Madam:
<br />
<br />Colowyo Coal Company L.P. has applied for a bond release at the Colowyo Coal Mine. The bond
<br />release application was found complete by this Division on April 18, 2025. All review and
<br />comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act and the
<br />Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining initiate from this date
<br />of filing.
<br />
<br />Under SL-24, Colowyo is applying for Phase I Bond Release on 145.9 acres in West Pit, north and
<br />east of Collom Pit, and northeast of the Gossard Loadout facility. The surface ownership is federal,
<br />state and private, and the coal mined was federal, state and private.
<br />
<br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 28 miles South of Craig,
<br />Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows:

<br />All or portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 28, 29, and
<br />30 in Township 3 North, Range 93 West; Sections 7, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26,
<br />27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, and 34 in Township 4 North, Range 93 West; Sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12,
<br />13, 14, 15, 22, and 23 in Township 3 North, Range 94 West; and Sections 12, 13, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27,
<br />34, 35, and 36 in Township 4 North, Range 94 West (all in 6th Prime Meridian).

<br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle
<br />map(s): Easton Gulch, Axial, Devils Hole Gulch, Ninemile Gap.
