COLORADO <br /> oDivision of Reclamation, <br /> Mining and Safety <br /> Department of Natural Resources <br /> DATE: July 2311, 2022 <br /> TO: Interested Contractors <br /> FROM: Julie Annear, Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety <br /> RE: Discretionary Purchase, Nancy and Mason Mines Project <br /> Enclosed is a brief description and bid schedule for the Nancy and Mason Mines Project. <br /> PROJECT LOCATION <br /> This project includes two sites which are located in La Plata County (Mason Mine, <br /> Permit M-1989-074) and San Juan County (Nancy Mine, Permit M-1995-005). The <br /> permits for these sites were revoked and the financial warranties were forfeited. The <br /> Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety will reclaim the sites using the forfeited bond <br /> money in accordance with the approved reclamation plans. <br /> WORK DESCRIPTION <br /> Mason Mine <br /> The Mason mine is located in the NE Y4 NW Y4 of Section 17, Township 36 N, Range <br /> 9W in La Plata County, Colorado. The site was located on the Shanty#16 unpatented <br /> mining lode c.m.c# 213165. The claim is no longer valid. The site was previously <br /> permitted. The permit was revoked and the bond was forfeited in 2018. <br /> The site contains a collapsed portal and a waste pile. The work will include reseeding <br /> the waste pile with a native seed mix. <br /> Nancy Mine <br /> The Nancy mine is located in the SW Y4 SE Y4 of Section 9, Township 40 N, Range 8W <br /> in San Juan County, Colorado. The site was located on the Nancy unpatented mining <br /> lode. The claim is no longer valid. The site was previously permitted. The permit was <br /> revoked and the bond was forfeited in 2017. <br /> The mine is located north of Durango on USFS land. The site is accessed from Highway <br /> #550 on the West Lime Creek Trail.
