Czapla <br /> <br />RE: Gray Pit #1 - File No. M-2003-092, Lewis Energy Lands, L.L.C. <br /> Amendment Application (AM-2) <br /> -Add 1.8 acres to allow for grading perimeter slopes to 2H:1V <br /> <br />-Change post-mining land use from rangeland to general agriculture and leave pit floor <br />with no topsoil or vegetation for use in general ranch operations. <br /> <br />Please be advised that on May 30, 2023, Lewis Energy Lands, L.L.C., whose address and telephone number <br />are 10101 Reunion Place Suite 100, San Antonio, TX 78216-9000; (970) 249-8749, filed an application for <br />a/an Amendment (AM- 2) to M2003092, Gray Pit #1, which is located approximately 6.5 miles East of <br />Montrose, Section 24, Township 49N, Range 8W, 10th Principle Meridian, in Montrose County. <br /> <br />-Add 1.8 acres to allow for grading perimeter slopes to 2H:1V <br /> <br />-Change post-mining land use from rangeland to general agriculture and leave pit floor with no topsoil or <br />vegetation for use in general ranch operations. <br /> <br />The application decision is scheduled for August 28, 2023. Written comments or objections to the <br />application may be submitted to and additional information obtained from Dustin M. Czapla at the Division <br />of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman St. Room 215 Denver, CO 80203, by telephone at (303) <br />866-3567 x 8188. <br /> <br />Lewis Energy Lands, L.L.C. is required to publish a public notice in a newspaper of general circulation in the <br />locality of the mining operation once per week for four consecutive weeks. If you wish to make comments <br />on or objections to the mine plan and/or the reclamation plan, they must be submitted within twenty (20) days <br />of the date of the last newspaper public notice to be considered in the application review process by the <br />Division. You should contact the applicant for the newspaper publication date. If we do not receive your <br />comments or any objection by the end of the public comment period, the Division will assume you have no <br />objection or comment to the proposed activity.
