Roadside Portals (Permit No. C-1981-041)
Dear Sir or Madam:
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is proposing to approve a renewal
application for coal mining and reclamation permit. The application was submitted by Snowcap
Coal Company,Inc on June 22,2022 for the Roadside Portals. In accordance with Rule 2.08.5(3)(b)
of the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining,we
are providing notice of this proposed decision.
Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request
a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the date following the
first publication of the public notice by the Division in the The Daily Sentinel.
The underground mine is located approximately 5 miles North of Palisade, Colorado. The permit
area is further described as follows:
T10S,R98W, 6th PM Sections 26, 34, and 35; T11S,R98W, 6th PM Section 2 all in Mesa County.
Copies of the renewal application are available for public review at the Mesa County Clerk and
Recorder,200 S. Spruce Street, Grand Junction, CO 81501. A Copy of the Division's "Proposed
Decision and Findings of Compliance" is available at Mesa County Clerk and Recorder, 200 S.
