Spruce <br />Grand Junction, CO 81501 <br /> <br /> <br />Re: Proposed Decision <br /> Permit Renewal Application No. 8 (RN-8) <br /> Roadside Portals (Permit No. C-1981-041) <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Mesa County Commissioners: <br /> <br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is <br />proposing to approve a renewal application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The <br />application was submitted by Snowcap Coal Company, Inc on June 22, 2022, for the Roadside <br />Portals. <br /> <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request <br />a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the date following the <br />first publication of this notice by the Division in the The Daily Sentinel. <br /> <br />The underground mine is located approximately 5 miles North of Palisade, Colorado. The permit <br />area is further described as follows: <br /> <br />T10S, R98W, 6th PM Sections 26, 34, and 35; T11S, R98W, 6th PM Section 2 all in Mesa County. <br /> <br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review at the Mesa County Clerk and <br />Recorder, 200 S. Spruce Street , Grand Junction, CO 81501. A Copy of the Division's “Proposed <br />Decision and Findings of Compliance” is available at your County Clerk and Recorder’s office. <br />The renewal application and decision documents, as well as all other permit documents, can be <br />viewed at https://dnrweblink.state.co.us/drms/search.aspx by searching C1981041 in the “Permit <br />No” field.
