Ouray Silver Mines, Inc.
1900 Main St. Unit 1
PO Box 564
Ouray,CO 81427
To: Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining &Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
From: Poppy Staub, VP Environmental & Government Affairs Ve
Date: July 18, 2022
Subject: Quarterly Hydrology Report
Q2 2022 Groundwater Results
DRMS Permit No. M-2012-032
Cc: T Jesse, Environmental Specialist, OSMI
Ouray Silver Mines performed second quarter 2022 groundwater sampling on May 25th, 2022 at
the Revenue Mine under DRMS permit M-2012-032. The samples were analyzed by ACZ
Laboratories in Steamboat Springs, CO. Samples were received by the lab within holding times
and within the appropriate temperature when received by the laboratory.
Results were within historical levels and below the groundwater standards approved in our
permit(see attached summary page for Q2 2022 data). Note, total cyanide was detected in
GW-1A and GW-2A, which is suspect as OSMI does not sue cyanide in its process. The
laboratory investigated its practices and reported that the cyanide detections were a laboratory
error due to sample contamination during sample prep. The samples were re-run by the lab and
results were below detection limits. We have had issues with cyanide in other samples run by
ACZ and are working with the lab to remedy the issue.
Copies of laboratory sheets and field forms from the Q2 2022 sampling event are attached.
Phone:(970)325-9830 ♦ Fax:(970)325-9824
