i r
Lewicki & Associates
ENGINEERING GEOLOGY ENVIRONMENTAL
May 27, 2022 RECEIVED
MIL Richardson
Asphalt Paving Company JUL 13 2022
14802 W 44th Ave
Golden, CO 80403 DIVISION OF RECLAMATION,
MINING &SAFETY-MINERALS
Wattenberg West Sand and Gravel Mine Permit No. M-2005-066
Slope Stability Analysis
Asphalt Paving Company is in possession of a permit for mining sand and gravel resources from a
pit in Wattenberg, Colorado. This permit (M-2005-066) is being transferred, requiring new structure
agreements to be obtained between the applicant and structure owners within the affected area of
the mine. Agreements for all structures within 200 feet of mining have been pursued by the
applicant, but not all have been obtained. This slope stability analysis satisfies the Mineral Rules
and Regulations for Construction Materials Rule 6.4.19(b)that requires an engineering evaluation
demonstrating that structures should not be damaged by mining activities in the case that a
structure agreement cannot be reached. While there are many structures within the 200 feet of
affected area from the permit, only the nearest structures to mining were evaluated for slope
stability purposes. It can be assumed that any structure not covered in this analysis will not be
affected as they are located greater than the minimum setback from mining identified in this report.
Mining is not currently being undertaken at this location, nor is it expected to start in the immediate
future.
1 . Nearby Structures and Existing Agreements
Structure and setback agreements have previously been obtained for the majority of the structures
and utilities within the affected area of the mine. The original agreements can be found in the
existing DRMS permit and subsequent revisions and are summarized in Table 1 below. Also
included are other affected structures which do not currently have structure agreements. Refer to
the attached Nearest Structures Map which provides the location in relation to mining of the
structures closest to mining.
Wattenberg West Slope
Stability Lcwicki&Associates
May 2022
