COLORADO QUARRIES, INC
270 S 15th Street
Canon City, CO 81212
RC
Tim Cazier FEB 0$ZOZZ
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining &Safety
1313 Sherman St, Room 215 DIVISION OF RSCLAMA"ON
Denver, CO 80203 MINING AND SAFETY
January 28, 2022
Re: Technical Revision, Mica White, #M-1992-058
Mr. Cazier,
After meeting with Darin Duran of Cesare and receiving his geotechnical report on the stability
issues at the Mica White pit, Colorado Quarries shall proceed with modifying the mining plan
as follows:
1. All mining shall be performed from the top of pit and fed down to crusher pad.
2. No mining or excavation will occur on bottom of wall or toe of slope, which could upset
stability of the mine face.
3. Daily visual monitoring will be performed by crusher crew on lower mine faces for
movement or raveling. Upper limits will be visually monitored by miners feeding material to
crusher.
4. Any instances of toppling blocks will be remedied by removing or sloping for safety
concerns.
5. The crack in the access road will be monitored on a regular basis. There should be no
more issues with it if we continue unloading the top of the pit wall and not disturbing the
toe.
In discussions with Darin Duran of Cesare, it was determined that unloading the top(above
crack) and mining top-down, and feeding mined material over lower bench, and avoiding
further mining or disturbance to the lower face, the stability issue should be curtailed.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the address above or call me at
719-588-7916.
n
ou
jo
Bill Tezak
Colorado Quarries Inc.
