It is also our understanding that in
addition, Trapper Mine intends to construct a new haul road segment and a new diversion ditch for
diverting mining related runoff. CPW recognizes that the proposed surface disturbance is within an
area that is currently approved for disturbance.
CPW has worked collaboratively with the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement
(OSMRE) and Trapper Mine to develop site-specific mitigation that will help reduce, minimize or avoid
impacts to wildlife and wildlife habitat. These mitigation practices have been documented via other
correspondence documents with OSMRE as it related to the initial Trapper Mine Permit Revision (PR -9)
of 2018. At this time CPW has no additional mitigation recommendations for the proposed revision.
CPW appreciates the opportunity to provide comments for the Technical Revision to the Mine and
Reclamation Plan. For additional information, please contact District Wildlife Manager, Evan Jones at
PHONE # 970-942-7696 or by email at evanm.jones@state.co.us.
Sincerely,
Bill de Vergie, Area Wildlife Manager
Cc: Evan Jones, District Wildlife Manager, Craig South
