<br />Dear Rio Blanco County Commissioners:
<br />
<br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is
<br />proposing to approve a renewal application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The
<br />application was submitted by Blue Mountain Energy, Inc on January 30, 2019, for the Deserado
<br />Mine.
<br />
<br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request
<br />a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication
<br />of this notice by the Division in the Rio Blanco Herald-Times.
<br />
<br />The underground mine is located approximately 7 miles Northeast of Rangely, Colorado. The
<br />permit area is further described as follows:
<br />
<br />Portions of Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, and 12, T2N, R101W, 6th PM, all in Rio Blanco County;
<br />Portions of Sections 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, 34, 35, and 36, T3N, R101W, 6th
<br />PM; All of Sections 22, 29, 32, and 33, T3N, R101W, 6th PM, all in Rio Blanco County.

<br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the
<br />above address and Town Clerk, 209 East Main, Rangely, CO 81648. A Copy of the Division's
<br />“Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance” is available at your County Clerk and
<br />Recorder’s office.
