Our office has rcvie\cd the scope of
work and assessment of adverse effect. We find that the Mining Plan and Reclamation Plan, as
proposed in the DRMS permit, is conditioned in a way that will result in nu c (hVI'AC elICrl to
5LK.1341. These conditions include no mining or mining activity \,,ithin the boundaries ofthe
historic property as documented in the National Register, fencing of this area. returning dredge
piles to pre-work appearance if'disturbed, and reclamation ofthe surroundinu setting concurrently
with mining work. The permit should ensure that these conditions are f'ollo\\cd and \,\ill not
negatively affect the integrity of the 51.K.1341 Im- which it is significant.
Thank you again for the opportunity to consult. If there are any questions please contact Jason
O'Brien, Section 106 Compliance Manager, at (303) 866-2673 orJason._obrienLstate,C0.us.
Sincerely,
r
{' Steve Turner, AIA
State Historic Preservation Officer
Cc: Katie Todt, P.G.
OFFICE OF ARCHAEOLOGY AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION
303-866-3392 * Fax 303-866-2711 * L-mail:oahp!ustate.co.us* Internet Ham\+ hi,torycolorado.org
1COLORADO HISTORICAL SOCIETY
