M-1996-064,TR
DIVISION OF IAIG/ND l
Dear Mr. Hays:
On September 14, 2018 the plant was notified that Acme would be permanently closing
the Castle Rock facility. Acme may choose to reclaim the property for future sale. In that event
Acme proposes the following revisions to the reclamation plan.
1. Exhibit D—Mining Plan: Acme is asking that the allowable disturbed area be increased
from 20.8 acres to 26 acres. This additional acreage would allow for on-site material to
be used in conjunction with the overburden stock piles to backfill the pit area. Thus,
possibly eliminating the need to import fill material. The new affected area would be in
the northwest quarter of the permitted area.
2. Exhibit E—Reclamation Plan: The final surface configuration of the pit area will be
graded to the existing ground surface slope. In such areas the approximate original
contour will occur.
3. Exhibit F—Reclamation Plan Map: The revised reclamation plan map is attached.
If you have any questions, please contact me. I will be happy to assist the Division with any
additional information.
Sincerely,
Robert Tibbetts
Mining Supervisor
W—303-688-6951
C—720-272-3152
rtibbetts@brick.com
401 Prairie Hawk Drive
Castle Rock,CO 80109
