RPM,Inc.
October 26,2018 REC!!VD
Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety Cld;! (.3340 i d
Attn: Mr. Jared Ebert
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 DIVISION OF RECLAMATION,
Denver, Colorado 80016 MINING AND SAFETY
Re: Town of Limon Patty's Pit Conversion Application (CN-01),Adequacy Response;
File No. M-1998-103; Response to the DRMS Adequacy Letter(August 28,2018)
Dear Mr. Ebert,
On August 28, 2018, the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety(DRMS)provided its
adequacy comments to the Town of Limon for the Conversion Application, M1998-103. These
responses, we believe, address the DRMS adequacy questions. The revised page changes are in
italic font. The replacement pages are: (2, 27, 28, 33, 38, 39,41, 64, 82, and 103), we have
included three sets of replacement pages and maps. Please make this response part of the
application package by placing it in the new Attachment VI.
In addition,we have made several additional revisions as follows:
➢ New page two, Table of Contents, added Attachment VI, Town of Limon Adequacy
Responses.
➢ Page 28, item 3.1.5(2)Backfilling; increased the volume of the overburden stockpile
from 1,000. cyds to 2,000 cyds.
➢ Page 41, item 6.4.7(2)(b) Identify all known aquifers. In the submitted application,we
overlooked the shallow alluvial aquifer known as the Big Sandy alluvial aquifer. The
new page corrects that omission.
➢ Page 64, item 6.4.15, Owner of the Substance to be mine, deleted the reference to
"Mineral". From past DRMS/applicant discussion, sand and gravel is not considered a
mineral.
➢ Page 82, revised Wildlife Statement page. Changed to show the maximum topsoil
replacement depth.
➢ Page 83, revised Wildlife Statement page. Changed to show the change in the seed mix.
➢ Page 103,title page for Attachment VI.
Respect y,
H Bruce Humphries
RPM,Inc.,Consultant for Elbert County
1
