TRAPPER MINING INC.
P.O. Box 187 Craig, Colorado 81626
June 19, 2018 RECEIVED
Ms. Robin Reilley JUN 26 2018
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety Division of Reclamation,
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 Mining & Safety
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Trapper MiWng Imo )?rwft,No. C-1981410, Technical Revision TR -121
Johnson/1 att Coal ►5tpc, pile.
Dear Ms. Reilley:
(970)824-4401
Please find enclosed duplicate copies of Technical Revision TR -121. This revision is intended to
propose the construction of a coal stockpile in the Johnson Gulch area. The pile is intended to
contain approximately 300,000 tons of coal at full capacity. Included with this application are
updates to one page of permit text, and one revised map. Also attached is a more detailed
drawing of the proposed pile and the perimeter drainage ditches and associated dozer basins
designed to contain runoff from the site. If excess runoff is experienced it is routed to either the
Johnson or West Pyeatt sediment pond structures. Topsoil pile H93-2 has been partially removed
for reclamation activity several years ago. The remaining topsoil and new stripping of the site
will be either added to a nearby pile such as JG8 or staged at the ash pit for future use.
The following revised permit narrative page is enclosed: 3-184. The following revised map is
enclosed: M13A (sheet 2).
Page 3-184 is revised to include language about the proposed pile and its function and use.
Map M 13A — Facilities Map — will show the proposed new location of the coal stockpile.
Our current Performance Bond is based on the worst case reclamation year of 2014. The open
acres estimate for 2014 was 2,122.3. In 2018, Trapper is anticipating ending the year with 2,073.7
open acres, which is 48.6 acres less than 2014. Projected total new disturbance of the new pile is
approximately 6.5 acres. This should leave adequate bond for the interim.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me.
Sincerely,
.")& /CZ -
Graham Roberts
Environmental Engineer
c
Jennifer Maiolo, BLM w/ attachments
File 109.2.3.4 w/o attachments
Revisions File
