This mine has not been economically viable for
many years. It would be dead now if not for multiple bailouts and special concessions.
As a source of methane pollution, this mine has no equal in Colorado. There are strategies to mostly eliminate this kind
of pollution from coal mines, but they do cost a bit extra. And thus the failure to require meaningful methane pollution
controls and reduction in the current permit revision application number 15 (PR -15) represents just one more bailout.
In addition, roadless areas in Colorado become ever more precious as our population skyrockets. The destruction of
more than 1500 acres of un-roaded public land by a mining operation that should be shut down is simply not acceptable.
Thank your for the opportunity to comment on this issue.
Paul Weis
Loveland, CO
Depao'AI Ata( Naturae Resoulccs
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203
https://ma il. google. com/mai I/b/AOg3vwl0smveWol nsa5lfh Revndt2T6Lymh7XjyFtbS6ZytJ 7Fj7/u/0/?u i=2&i k=deb7fOcd20&jsver=-dxVNc9Y02g. en. &cbl =g mai I_fe_1805
