Our comments are provided in accordance with the Colorado State
Register Act(Colorado Revised Statute (CRS) 24-80.1).
A search of our database indicates that no cultural resource inventory has been conducted within the proposed
permit area. However site 5FN1501.4 a segment of the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, which was recorded
in 2012 and lies within the permit area. That recording recommended the site eligible to both the State and
National Register of Historic Places, and it was officially determined supporting eligibility to the National Register
of Historic Places in 2012. It is not listed on or nominated to the State Register of Historic (see attachment).
As most of Colorado has not been inventoried for cultural resources, our files contain incomplete information.
Consequently there is the possibility that as yet unidentified cultural resources exist within the proposed permit
area. The requirements under CRS 24-80 part 13 apply and must be followed if human remains are discovered
during ground disturbing activities.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment. If we may be of further assistance, please contact Todd McMahon,
Staff Archaeologist at(303) 866-4607/todd.mcmahonfistate.co.us.
state.co.us.
Sincerely,
 4teve Turn r,1 A
State Histort r servation Officer
ST/TCM
OFFICE OF ARCHAEOLOGY AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION
303-866-3392*Fax 303-866-2711*E-mail:oahp@state.co,us* Internet:www.historycolorado.org
