K 0 ` "r
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 81203
RE: Juniper Quarry, Permit No. M-2003-073, Technical Revision
Ms. Yeldell:
In the attempt to lower our bond required to keep the pit open, we would like to reduce our active
mining area to 5 acres. As of today, we have removed the metal skid building and moved the
seeder to the private property below. To date, 6.2 acres on the North end of the pit and 1.12 acres
on the south end of the pit have been totally reclaimed and seeded. The road remains along the
fence line into the pit. The processed material left on the north side of the pit is left at the land
owners request and will not be sold or removed from the property. Vigilant management of weeds
& erosion control will be done in the spring and summer months to help desirable vegetation grow
on the newly planted areas of the reclaim.
The remaining active 5 acre part of the pit has been sloped and all ridges and high-walls have been
knocked down as to limit the need for grading.
I would like to continue our M 2003-073 gravel pit into Intermittent Operation Status as of
February 1, 2017 request. We don't see that we will be crushing in this pit or using it over 180/
year in the next 3- 5 years.
Thank you for your patience assistance in this matter.
Mike Anson
Moffat Limestone Company
PO Box 363
Craig, CO 81626
(970)272-3000
(970) 824-8536 (Fax)
Moffatlimestone(2yahoo.com
