Ms. Amy Eschberger ;
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 2150
Denver, CO 80203 40`oy0F
Ile
November 28, 2017
Ms. Eschberger,
As a concerned citizen and resident of Colorado, and someone who regularly visits the
areas close to the area of the proposed Hitch Rack Ranch Quarry, I strongly object to
Transit Mix Concrete Co. application M2017-049 to establish a quarry on Hitch Rack
Ranch.
The application fails to protect the precious Colorado water resources for the residents
and property owners in the surrounding areas. In addition, the application fails to protect
the numerous wildlife habitats; the reason I live along the Front Range-is because of the
beautiful mountains and abundant wildlife. Granting this permit will destroy both.
Every time I pass through Colorado Springs I see the ugly scar that Transit Mix
Concrete Co. has left as a reminder for all residents and visitors to see. Is this what they
call reclamation? That scar at the Pikeview Quarry is SHAMEFUL.
The application also fails to protect the easement rights of several property owners
along Little Turkey Creek Road.
I urge the Mine Land Reclamation Board (MLRB) to deny TM's application.
I request that both the Pre-hearing Conference and MLRB Hearing be conducted in
Colorado Springs.
Regards,
L s Belangee
Ft.
