The revision is to address water ob. served at the 9 -Right and 10 -Right seals. This water is considered to be coming from the thicken- er underflow discharge in 8 -Right due to a blockage in the area of 8 -Right . This revision proposes to shift the thickener underflow discharge to another location. The proposed locations include: 1) A tem- porary measure to shift discharge to exisiting ap- proved 1 MN Replacement Thickener Underflow Borehole, 2) As a backup plan, a previously ap- proved basin adjacent to Area 1 Pit be re - excavated. 3) As a longer-term solution, installing a thickener underflow borehole and connecting pipe- line from the exisiting thickener underflow pipeline. The Foidel Creek Mine is a/an underground coal mine located in Routt County, approximately 2; miles SW of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Coal in- terest is federal, state and private, and the surface affected is federal, state and private land. The per, mit area encompasses approximately 22,607.0( acres. This proposed decision is based on a finding that the proposed operation will comply with all require- ments of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Recla- mation Act, Section 34 33 101, et seq., C.R.S., anc the regulations promulgated thereunder. Copies of the proposed decision, including stipula- tions, are on file for public inspection at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Roon- 215, Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203. Persons with an interes that may be adversely affected by the proposed de- cision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on the proposed decision. Such request must be made within ten (10) days of the initial publication of this notice, must be in writing, and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the request and the objec- tions to the proposed decision.
