The revision is to address water ob. <br />served at the 9 -Right and 10 -Right seals. This <br />water is considered to be coming from the thicken- <br />er underflow discharge in 8 -Right due to a blockage <br />in the area of 8 -Right . This revision proposes to <br />shift the thickener underflow discharge to another <br />location. The proposed locations include: 1) A tem- <br />porary measure to shift discharge to exisiting ap- <br />proved 1 MN Replacement Thickener Underflow <br />Borehole, 2) As a backup plan, a previously ap- <br />proved basin adjacent to Area 1 Pit be re - <br />excavated. 3) As a longer-term solution, installing a <br />thickener underflow borehole and connecting pipe- <br />line from the exisiting thickener underflow pipeline. <br />The Foidel Creek Mine is a/an underground coal <br />mine located in Routt County, approximately 2; <br />miles SW of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Coal in- <br />terest is federal, state and private, and the surface <br />affected is federal, state and private land. The per, <br />mit area encompasses approximately 22,607.0( <br />acres. <br />This proposed decision is based on a finding that <br />the proposed operation will comply with all require- <br />ments of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Recla- <br />mation Act, Section 34 33 101, et seq., C.R.S., anc <br />the regulations promulgated thereunder. <br />Copies of the proposed decision, including stipula- <br />tions, are on file for public inspection at the Colorado <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Roon- <br />215, Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Denver, Colorado 80203. Persons with an interes <br />that may be adversely affected by the proposed de- <br />cision may request a formal hearing before the <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board on the proposed <br />decision.
