Each section of the second adequacy review is listed
below.
6.4.4 Exhibit D —Mining Plan
• Underlying stratum: Since the County is not 100% sure what the underlying geology is of
this pit location, the maximum depth to which the County expects to mine will be
approximately 72 inches beneath the surface, which is this approximate thickness of the
sand and gravel. The County will evaluate this depth as mining begins and determining
the underlying geology. Based on the soil types in this pit location, the soils are
Haverson loam, Satanta loam and Sampson loam, and are underlain by sand and
gravel. The substratum can be a depth of 60-78 inches or more in these soil types.
6.4.5 Exhibit E—Reclamation Plan
• At this point, the landowner is not sure if they will want the new haul road to remain after
mining is completed, therefore no landowner letter is attached from landowner.
Therefore, the County is planning to reclaim the haul road the same as the other acreage
on the mining site.
6.4.19 Exhibit S —Permanent Man-Made Structures
• Attached is a"No Negative Effect" letter from KC Electric Association for the powerline
located on the north side of County Road M near the mining site.
Rod Pelton. Commissioner Chairman Nancy Bogenhagen, Commissioner Patrick J. Ward, Commissioner rice Chairman
Marcy L. Brossman, Administrator Patricia Daugherty, Clerk to the Board
