Dear Michael:
According to the Division's August 10, 2016 Adequacy Review No. 1 in the above-referenced
matter, the current decision date for TR-2 is September 29, 2016. In order to adequately respond
to the Division's preliminary review, Aggregate Industries (AI) requests an extension of the
decision date. Additionally,the review letter indicated that Division staff are reviewing the
Engineering Stability Analysis and will be providing additional comments, which to date Al has
not received. Al would appreciate the opportunity to review and respond to those comments in
conjunction with preparation of responses to the preliminary adequacy items.
As we discussed recently, Al will not be able to commence activities associated with TR-2 until
site access is restored via the Old St. Vrain Bridge, which was destroyed during the September
2013 flood event. The most recent information available from Boulder County indicates that
they are in the process of completing the 90% construction plan set. They plan to put the project
out to bid in October or November and anticipate that construction will begin in early 2017
(February).
Based upon the above, Al requests an extension of the TR decision date to November 30, 2016.
