The under- ground operation is operated by Bowie Resources, LLC under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The bond release application was submitted by Bowie Resourc- es, LLC on June 17, 2015, Bond Re- lease No. 1 (SL -1) associated with the Bowie No. 1 Mine represents a partial Phase 1, II, and III bond re- lease. SL -1 requests the release on 82.93 acres of partial Phase I, 45.33 acres of partial Phase II, and 4.1 acres of partial Phase III. The total amount of reclamation liability re- lease is $1,475,642.03. The affected area is located in Delta County, ap- proximately 5 miles Northeast of Paonia, Colorado.
