The present road has a section which is not wide enough to safely move
heavy equipment from the Belt -Out -Back (BOB) and Loadout Stockpile areas to the Refuse Pile and Raw Coal
Stockpile areas. TC proposes to place a 350 foot culvert in existing Ditch D-1 on the south side of Haulroad B-1
and backfill over the culvert to widen the existing road. Ditch D-1 is designed to handle a peak flow of 13.8 cfs, so
the culvert is oversized at 30 -inches in diameter, with the capacity to handle 22.0 cfs. Because the road/ditch
footprint will not be altered, there will be no new disturbance. Fill material for the culvert installation will come
from the existing safety berm, since there will no longer be a drop-off from the road to the ditch and the berm will
no longer be required
This submittal includes revised PAP text and a map addressing the location and configuration of the proposed
Haulroad modifications. PAP revisions are limited to pages 2.05-68 and 68.1 and Map 24 (Sheet 1), Surface
Facilities. We would like to proceed with this project as soon as possible, to support our ongoing mining activities.
We, therefore, appreciate your consideration, cooperation, and assistance in facilitating timely review and approval
of this revision application. After you have opportunity to review the accompanying information, please feel free to
contact me with any questions or to discuss submittal materials or related matters.
Best regards,
Twentymile Coal
Jerry ton
Manage
6 Ei ironmental Affairs
