Otten <br /> Central City Consolidated Mining <br /> 11438 CR 19 <br /> Fort Lupton, CO 80621 <br /> RE: Bates-Hunter Mine; DRMS File No. M-1990-041; Corrective Action Extension Request <br /> Dear Mr. Otten, <br /> The Division is in receipt of your letter dated June 8, 2016 in which you request additional time to <br /> complete the corrective actions identified in the Inspection Report dated May 23, 2016. The following is a <br /> list of the corrective actions at the Bates-Hunter Mine which have not been completed: <br /> 1)Provide an inventory of all fuel, oil,lubricants and chemicals which are currently being stored in <br /> containers at the mine site. <br /> 2) Remove and properly dispose of the soil around the fuel containment area and around the drum storage <br /> area. Provide a description of how the soil was removed and disposed of, including the total volume of <br /> topsoil removed and photo documentation of remediation activities. <br /> 3)Remove and properly dispose of the liquids within the secondary containment for the fuel storage area. <br /> Provide a description of how the liquids were removed and disposed of, including the total volume of <br /> liquids removed from the secondary containment and photo documentation of the remediation activities. <br /> 4)Provide evidence in the form of receipt which demonstrates that the soil, liquids within the secondary <br /> fuel containment area and the contents of the unlabeled 55 gallon drum were properly disposed by an <br /> approved method(such as sent to an approved landfill, land farming, recycling center,etc.). <br /> The above listed corrective actions must be completed by July 22,2016.
