5/16/2016 State.co.us Executive Branch Mail -Request for Assistance: C1980007, West Elk Mine, TR-138, Cost Estimate
quSTATE OF Hernandez - DNR, Alysha <alysha.hernandez@state.co.us>
COLORADO
Request for Assistance: C1980007, West Elk Mine, TRA 38, Cost Estimate
1 message
Simmons - DNR, Leigh <leigh.simmons@state.co.us> Fri, May 13, 2016 at 9:43 AM
To: Clayton Wein - DNR <clayton.wein@state.co.us>, Jim Stark - DNR <jim.stark@state.co.us>
Cc: Alysha Hernandez - DNR <alysha.hemandez@state.co.us>
Clayton,
Mountain Coal Company have submitted an application for TR -138 at the West Elk Mine. The revision was found
complete today.
TR -138 seeks to make minor changes to the locations of four Mine Ventilation Boreholes (MVBs), and eliminate
a fifth. The size of the pads associated with each MVB will not change; they will be from 0.25 to 2.0 acres in
size. A segment of new road will be necessary to reach MVB E7-4; this is expected to be about 14' in width and
400' in length. All other roads are existing.
Although relatively small, the revision will have implications for the reclamation cost estimate. I would appreciate
your assistance in recalculating the estimate.
Leigh
Leigh Simmons
Environmental Protection Specialist
!COLORADO
I
I Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
P 303.866.3567 x 8121 1 C 720.220.1180 1 F 303.832.8106
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203
leigh.simmons@state.co.us I http://mining.state.co.us/
https:Hmail.google.com/m ai I/u/0/?ui=2&i k=e29129fcb5&view=pt&search= i nbox&th=154aac9l bcbde2fb&si m I=154aac9l bcbde2fb 1/1
