It has been brought to my attention that
Transit Mix Concrete Company is looking to put in a cement facility in southwest
Colorado Springs, within less than a mile from homes in that area. Do they know how far
this fine particle dust that's being created can fly? If similar to pollen, it can impact the
airways of asthma and COPD patients as far as 3-4 miles away. There needs to be due
diligence among the Division of Reclamation Mining & Safety to make sure that this is not
going to create an unnecessary respiratory burden for the patients in this area of
Colorado Springs.
Thank you for your consideration in this potential health issue.
Sincerely yours,
Robert A.
