With the approval of AR -5, 9.2 acres of undisturbed ground is hereby
released from the permit area and Lafarge is released from further reclamation liability for that parcel of ground.
The 9.2 acres is located near the southeastern edge of the permit area and encompasses the historic residence and
outbuildings as described in the AR -5 application documents.
Unfortunately, the permit acreage remaining after this action is unknown at this time due to a discrepancy between
Lafarge and DRMS records. Lafarge records indicate that the current permit area is 77.1 acres, whereas DRMS records
indicate a current permit area of 78.78 acres. Lafarge has advised DRMS that they will investigate this discrepancy and
attempt to ascertain the source of the error. After the acreage discrepancy has been resolved, DRMS will make any
needed correction in our system and no further action by Lafarge will be required. The findings of this investigation will
have no bearing on the approval decision rendered by DRMS on the AR -5 request.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303) 866-3567 x8108.
Sincerely,
1;/16"6j
David Bird
Reclamation Specialist
cc: Tony Waldron - DRMS
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation
Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
ciA
