A few small <br />undeveloped pastures and meadows are also present in the high country. <br />The slopes are too steep to offer any agricultural potential and offer only <br />minimal grazing potential. <br />The agricultural land in the North Fork Valley consists of three types: <br />rangeland, woodland and irrigated land. The irrigated land is made up of: <br />pastures, hay lands, small grain lands and orchards. Livestock in the North <br />Fork Valley are wintered on farms and ranches located throughout the valley <br />and are summered in the high country. <br />Springs and ponds are common in the permit and adjacent area which <br />enhance the value of the high country for wildlife habitat and historically <br />livestock grazing. <br />No commercially merchantable timber exists near the permit area due to the <br />steep slopes and low elevation although some small stands of aspen do <br />occur within the area. <br />PR -12 <br />4 PPRaV6D <br />1116/ o <br />The lower portion of the permit and adjacent area consists of pasturelands, <br />orchards, residential and industrial.
